I am not gonna lie, as much as I love food trucks I normally stay away from massive weekend food truck rodeos. It only took standing in a 30-45 minute line in the dead of the Carolina summer once to cast them off. The whole thing brought back bad memories of withering away in lines at Disney World or Great Adventure Amusement Park during the summer. It didn’t make much sense to me since I could find anyone of these trucks during the week and not have to endure the wait.
Now it seems the minds behind food trucks rodeos are thinking of creative ways to get people with similar complaints of mine to come out anyhow. “Durham Parks and Recreation will also give the community an opportunity to “Play More” by transforming the Great Lawn, the open green space that climbs the hill between The Leaf and The Skate Park into a snow-filled Winter wonderland for sledding. There will be a section at the bottom of the hill for younger children to play, build snow forts and make snow angels as well.” My recent knee surgery will probaly keep me off the sledding hill but it shouldn’t keep me from listening to some live music from the group Skinny Bag of Sugar while drinking a Fullsteam Beer.
The following trucks will be in attendance:
Fahsyrah’s Lemonade
