Best of 2013

One of the best parts of blogging and taking pictures is the ability to look back. Its hard to sum up a year of eating, traveling and enjoying new expereinces but looking at these pictures and reading some of the posts brings them back like they were just yesterday. I had a chance to experience many new places and things in 2013 but nothing beats the time I had to share with my family. I started blogging for myself but, I am increasingly adding my incredibly supportive family into it. Whether it’s Serena taking pictures or her constant input regarding content and just recently my sister Neisha has expressed a desire  to share her recipes and experiences of becoming a vegetarian and now vegan. This blog has allowed me to share my passions with them. Serena is an extremely creative person with crafts and baking and I hope to share her talents more. Although Devin is only 17 months and cannot talk (except for a few words) he constantly adds perspective and insight when watching him navigate each of the life experiences I am fortunate enough to bring him.

I hope to continue to highlight and learn from from all of the great, chefs, farmers and business owners. I have had a chance to watch and share your knowledge. Colin Powell once said “Surround yourself with people who take their work seriously, but not themselves, those who work hard and play hard.” That is exactly what I plan to continue to do in 2014 and I thank you all for allowing me into you life and kitchens.

I thank the 42,000 of you in 127 different countries that visited my site, shared (by Facebook and word of mouth) and re-Tweeted.I hope to continue to grow this site and give readers new, insightful and interesting content to see where we can take this thing.
