While I was away Serena’s great-aunt came to North Carolina and cooked up some authentic Puerto Rican food. Somehow Serena saved me some of these Rellenas de Papas to fry up when I got home.
Rellenas de Papa are basically mashed potato dough rolled into a ball with seasoned meat in the middle then fried. These things have a nice crunch on the outside but you are immediately hit with the soft mashed potatoes followed by the flavor and texture of the meat.
When I got done with these jammies, ideas of what I could fill them with flooded my mind. I was told it was blasphemy to put anything but ground beef inside but anyone who knows how I operate knows some pulled pork, curry chicken and other goodies will be inside.
I’ll have to do my own version of these. They sound, and look, really delicious. Thanks!
thanks, let me know how it works out, send pics

Yes they are great many people have numerous ideas on how to fill the balls but ground beef and roast pork or cheese seem to be the most used ones. Thier are many others who use ground chicken or pork and even ground sweet sauages. they all taste good but its up to your taste at the end of the day. by:LightMixRican!
