National Farmer’s Market Week – Eat Fresh


North Carolina State Farmers Market

 This week is National Farmers Market Week so forget how Subway says they eat fresh and get down to your local Farmers’s market. By some fresh, meat, cheese or veggies and whip up a fresh meal. As a bonus you can feel good about supporting your local farmer. Below is a list of a couple of the markets I have visited in the Triangle Area. For a more extensive list click here:

Cary Downtown Farmers Market
Chatham Square, 744 E. Chatham St.

  • Saturdays 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (April-November)
  • Tuesdays 3-6 p.m. (April-November)

Duke Farmers Market
Next to the Bryan Research Building and the Searle Center, Duke University Campus

Durham Farmers Market
501 Foster St., Durham Central Park Pavilion

  • Saturdays 8 a.m.-noon (April-November); Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon (December-March)
  • Wednesdays 3:30-6:30 p.m. (May-September)

State Farmers Market
1201 Agriculture St., at I-40 & Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh

  • Mondays-Saturdays 5 a.m.-6 p.m. (year-round)
  • Sundays 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (year-round)
