Coming off a couple of trips to New Orleans, New Orleans Jazzfest and ripping through the first season of Treme I had a major hankering the taste of New Orleans too. To rectify this situation I rolled down to Papa Mojo’s. This was my second time and this place continues to impress me. They seem to have good weekend music line-ups and a brass band I saw at Jazzfest played there last month (Soul Rebels Brass Band). It’s good to know there is a place around here that does Cajun right because I have another season of Treme to tackle.
Roadhouse Gumbo($5.25 cup) Packed with cochin, andouille and topped with a dome of white rice, its didn’t stray from the delicious gumbo I tasted in the big easy.
Pasta w/ Blackened Shrimp & Mushroom Capers Cream Sauce ($9.00) – this was the special of the day and special would be an understatement. This was so good and filling I almost fell asleep on the way home.
